Optimizing Clinical Trials in CEE & CIS Region
Clinical Research experts from across Central Eastern Europe, CIS countries and Turkey gathered in Vienna on February 13 th and 14 th on occasion of Jacob Fleming’s Conference on Optimizing Clinical Trials in CEE & CIS Region. The former Austro-Hungarian capital was a an ideal host city for representatives from leading pharmaceutical companies as well as national medicinal authorities to exchange their knowledge and viewpoints on best practices and new trends for optimizing the conduct of clinical trials in the region. The proactive delegates engaged in interesting discussions in interactive sessions that provided true learning experiences. Mr. Alexander Alfimov graduated from St. Petersburg Military Medical Academy in 1987. After completion of military service as a navy physician he worked in the Moscow Institute of Urology. He defended his PhD in prostate cancer and started there as clinical investigators. Alexander joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1994 as a Medical Manager in Zeneca. Currently he holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer and is member of the Pharmaceutical Executive Committee in Novartis Pharma Russia, being responsible for medical affairs, clinical operations, scientific operations, pharmacovigilance and regulatory interface.
