The MENA real estate industry has seen a drastic boom since the last 3 years. The scope & opportunities in emerging markets have given room for the region’s leading and local mortgage providers a chance to increase their portfolio and clientele. What seems to be a challenge in the region is the ongoing variation of the mortgage regulations. Financers, developers & borrowers find the market perplexed and cannot identify the significance of buying and financing a property.
With drastic changes in the domestic mortgage law and hike in property prices, since financers and borrowers fail to understand how the law will benefit them in their transaction, the industry sees a challenge where borrowers think twice before taking a real estate property and going for a home loan. Without transparency of what the law indicates it is hard for both parties to go ahead with a property financing deal. This may not be the case with specialized mortgage finance companies as compared to the traditional retail banks. What the region has to consider is how they can make the region financially secure as compared to the crisis that occurred in the west. Knowing that the region’s mortgage market is in it’s infancy, the financers, developers & the regulators can work together to streamline the mortgage program and make it flexible as compared to the west.
After reviewing a series of successes in many banking and finance events, Fleming Gulf is proud to announce its upcoming senior management conference on MENA Mortgages Forum 2009 scheduled on February 9th till 11th 2009 in Dubai UAE. The event is a 2 day conference with a post workshop.
It will help professionals from the mortgage market to discuss about the pressing issues that are being faced by financers, developers & borrowers in the MENA region. Specialized case studies and presentations will elaborate on the current happenings, regulations, scope and opportunities, best practices, and solutions.
Fleming Gulf welcomes mortgage financers, mortgage brokers, and developers from the MENA region to this inaugural event on MENA Mortgages Forum 2009 to explore the trends and opportunities in the MENA region and get to hear what the experts have to say about the mortgage regulations. This will surely be a good platform for such an audience as today’s mortgage financers seek an interest to explore new markets and comply with the new regulations to provide the best mortgage solution.
